What is the difference between a health coach and a dietician?

What is the difference between a health coach and a dietician?

Health coaches work holistically and guide you to make sure all the pillars of your life support your wellness. A dietician is mostly focused on the food you eat alone. A dietician might be giving you a more formal meal plan whereas a health coach will help you incorporate healthy habits into your life mentally, physically, AND emotionally.

Is this a weight loss program?

IS THIS A WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM?

Not primarily. The goal is to help set your health on the right course and teach you how to make long term strides. If losing weight is one of your goals, I can absolutely help you in your process, but I am not solely a weight loss coach. Health comes in many shapes and sizes, and a number on the scale alone does not determine your health. 

Do i have to follow a strict meal plan?

DO I HAVE TO FOLLOW A STRICT MEAL PLAN?

This is a ‘one size does NOT fit all’ program. We will explore your dietary needs and make sure you are eating to optimize your health and comfort, but I am not in the business of diets and restrictions. We will work to make a plan that works for you, specifically. Eating should have flexibility and be enjoyable no matter your goals as far as I’m concerned. Let’s get you there.

I don't have time. how can i get the benefits?

I DON'T HAVE TIME. HOW CAN I GET THE BENEFITS?

The work I will be asking you to do for yourself in between sessions consists of only 2-3 minor action steps per week. The goal is to learn how to fit wellness into your life, not how to fit your life into wellness. I have flexible appointment times and am open to discussing your schedule to make sure we can fit it in. In the meantime, follow me on instagram and tiktok at @wellwithjessie for general tips.

I do not claim to take the place of your physician. As well as working toward your personal health goals, I want to help you implement the instructions you’re given when you go for a check up or specialist appointment. How many times does a doctor suggest something, we do it for a week, and then we drop the ball? Say your inflammation is high. You might even know what you need to do to fix it but have no idea how to make it happen in your busy life. That’s why I’m here. I also want to make sure you are seeing the physicians who are right for you and can help you to find the right care.

I will be offering group sessions in the future that will consist of single or two session events. I am happy to discuss the possibility of a one on one single session in a consultation. In general, habit formation and real results come with time, trial, and error.
